When I just moved in Basel, one of the first places from my list to find was sport.
Jogging is not my thing, swimming pool-generally is a great idea- with my hear it's hard! And it's not so many swimming pools for swimming here, it's either spa pools with see water or school swimming polls which are available for everybody once or twice a week. We tried to play volleyball. It was great, but didn't work with that group of people... so, we think about renting the field for it for our own group this summer for playing once a week or so...
Well,I ve made a list of studios and went to 10-12 places.
The place which told that it's a best fitness in the city had almost no windows, bad ventilation system and huge place for men (weights) training, that's why all around was a smell of men's sweat. and they had only 1 room for pilates, etc without windows and not very big one.
Other place was quite big and light, but there were too many old people doing machines (sorry, happy for them, BUT don't want to see that at all), and the swimming pool was just a big bath (+34), and people just were sitting there. I ve asked if it's possible to swim there, the answer was: "no, it will disturbe other people!!!!". What the f*ck, it's a swimming pool - it's not a bath!!!
The other was so hidden, that i couldn't find it for 2 hours and i gave up.
Others were too far to go... or only machines...
Finally i ve found MY studio, it was great, and (of course) one of the most expensive. But I ve desided that if I don't have much to do, at least I will go to the place i really like.
They had machines, very new and great in working, group courses room, nice ventilations, big windows. Very clean, nice showers and lockers, 2 saunas, great instructors. I was there half a year.
Before NY i stopped and now i need to find another variant or continue there...
But we all know that if you pay for a year you go not so often , ha?))
So now I think about 2 options:
1. To go the studio, either to the one i ve used already or a studio at work (which is muuuch cheeper, but a bit far to get) - and buy Abo
2. To go to the different studios only with specific trainings: tae-bo, pilates, yoga, zumba - and pay just for a concrete visit. With price it is reasonable and also middle high.
Hmm.. still thinking... still have some time to make a decision
